Elaine Lamb, Human Resources
Working in the charity sector is deeply rewarding because it’s about creating real and lasting change. My passion is seeing how our projects and dedicated staff help people make positive lifestyle changes. I value that we work holistically - focusing on the individual rather than rigid systems and never give up on anyone. Supporting staff development and watching them grow in confidence and recognise the difference they make is one of the most fulfilling parts of my role. My career began in the public sector before moving into the private sector, but I discovered my true calling nearly 30 years ago when I joined the voluntary sector. I started by supporting carers and establishing the Princess Royal Trust for Carers Centre in Perth. Later I helped develop the first Volunteer Centre in Perth & Kinross - an exciting initiative that opened doors for volunteers to contribute meaningfully to their communities. After a short period in Aberdeen, I completed my HR qualification and returned to Perth to join CATH as part of the senior management team. For the past 21 years, I’ve been privileged to lead HR, ensuring our people feel supported and empowered to deliver life-changing work. Outside of work, I find joy in the companionship of dogs - I’ve shared my life with four wonderful furry friends and hope to always have one by my side. I’m also passionate about travel and have been fortunate to explore many countries, with a few more still on my bucket list.

Angela Pugh, Service Coordinator
I’m an experienced manager with a strong background in social care, housing support and team leadership. I’m passionate about creating safe, supportive environments where both staff and service users feel respected, empowered and able to grow. I’m naturally calm, practical and approachable, and I bring that into my leadership style, whether I’m guiding the team through a challenging situation, supporting colleagues in their development, or ensuring that our practice stays person centred and grounded in compassion. I hold safeguarding and Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC) standards to a high level, balancing with empathy, fairness and real understanding of day to day work. What matters most to me is seeing people make progress, staff and service users alike, and being part of a team that genuinely cares about delivering high quality support. I’m proud to help shape the positive, caring culture within CATH and to lead in a way that promotes trust, consistency and meaningful outcomes for the people we support. My hobbies are travelling, caravanning, fishing and enjoying the beautiful outdoors!

Louise MacDonald, Service Coordinator
I am passionate about helping and supporting people in our community, and I always strive to get things right for those I work with. I care deeply about the services I deliver and take pride in being forward-thinking, adaptable, and ready for any challenge that comes my way. My motivation comes from seeing people feel supported, understood, and able to move forward with confidence. I began my career in care, working as a care assistant before joining CATH as a Development Worker. Over time, I worked my way into a management role, gaining a strong understanding of both frontline practice and service coordination. I enjoy developing new ideas, planning projects, and thinking creatively to improve the support we offer. Bringing fresh approaches and finding solutions that make a real difference is something I take pride in. Outside of work, you’ll usually find me off on an adventure. I love hitting the road in my campervan, exploring new places, and spending as much time outdoors as I can. Paddle boarding is one of my favourite ways to switch off and enjoy some peace on the water. I’m also obsessed with my dogs, they come along on most adventures and keep life fun. On the creative side, I have a degree in Jewellery and Metal Design and still love making unique pieces whenever I get the chance. It’s my way of staying inspired and connected to my creative roots.

Lana Aberdein, Service Coordinator
I am passionate about supporting individuals who face social barriers, discrimination, and stigma. I believe everyone deserves to be heard, valued, and empowered to move forward positively in their lives. My approach is rooted in empathy, respect, and creating safe, person-centred environments where people can build confidence and achieve meaningful change. With professional experience as a police officer and in social care, I have developed strong skills in communication, advocacy, safeguarding, managing risk, and team management. Leading and supporting teams in challenging environments has strengthened my ability to coordinate effectively, build trust, and ensure high standards of care and support for both colleagues and service users. I am particularly committed to supporting individuals affected by addiction, helping them access the right guidance, resources, and opportunities to rebuild their lives with dignity. I focus on balancing risk management with empowerment, ensuring people receive the support they need while fostering resilience and long-term positive change. Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with my family, which helps me stay grounded, focused, and strengthens the compassion, patience, and understanding I bring to my role every day.

Sarah Hambrook, CATH Shop and On the Mend Project Manager
My role is very people orientated, I enjoy seeing CATH volunteers discover confidence and retail skills in our thriving shop and our customers appreciating the friendly atmosphere - we're the ‘go to’ charity shop for so many. Our On the Mend project is constantly developing and offers everyone an opportunity to be creative, something I have enjoyed through my life. It's vital for us to adapt and change to the needs of our customers and participants. I studied Creative Arts with a focus on working with the community at Newcastle Polytechnic in the 1980s. Whilst having a young family I found myself working part-time in retail over many years and creating and selling my own artwork. I had numerous volunteer roles, lots of community activities just don’t happen without people giving their time. Managing our shop and On the Mend project I can combine my skills and experience. I Iove getting my sleeves rolled up and upcycling a bit of furniture or changing up a room in my house. I am lucky enough to be surrounded by beautiful countryside and have Labradors that will go on endless walks. When I get the opportunity, I like to travel and sample different foods and drinks, my favourite so far is a Pina Colada in the Caribbean!
